Louis and Rosanne Bucci founded the first Buccis location nearly four decades ago in Rocky River. Today, with three other locations established, and son Joe Bucci charged with continuing the legacy, Bucci’s is the name many of us think of when only the best hospitality and exceptional Italian food will do.

Bucci’s Italian restaurant made its debut in 1972 as a 50-seater, home-style Italian restaurant in the Rocky River suburb of Cleveland. Its signature dishes were pizza and pastas. Joe Bucci, owner and president of the family-owned business, said that Bucci’s Rocky River was the adaptation of his grandparents’ restaurant, Francescas, which was located on the west side of the city. Named after his grandmother, Mr. Bucci said Francescas was one of Cleveland’s first pizza parlors, known for its fresh ingredients and homemade items. For many loyal customers, Mr. Bucci said, Bucci’s Rocky River evokes nostalgia because it is the original home of Bucci’s and still has the same casual atmosphere.

Every other Buccis restaurant touts its own reputation and style.In Rocky River it offers steak and seafood and at the JBella location, fine dining and event catering is Buccis style, but in Middleburg Heights you have an authentic, homestyle wood-burning oven that creates pizzas worth multiple trips back. The menu hosts two classic pizzas; the Bianca and the Margherita. The Bianca is nothing more than the delicious ingredients of extra virgin olive oil, fresh herbs and mozzarella cheese, while the Margherita adds fresh sauce to mozzarella cheese and basil. After that, the pizza menu is up to you. Add your toppings from the gourmet section and pick from artichoke hearts, feta cheese or prosciutto ham.
